2016 Programme July to November

26 July  Constance Barnicoat Room Tasman District Library at 2.00 pm. A General Meeting will be followed by “Show and Tell”. The idea of “Show and Tell” is for anyone who has an interesting historical item to bring it along and talk about it for a short time.

23 August– Constance Barnicoat Room Tasman District Library at 2.00 pm. A General Meeting will be followed by Colin Gibbs speaking on Early Pioneering Days in Wakefield.

27 September – Visit to Eileen and Graham Thawley’s Harvey Hop Kiln at 269 George Harvey Road, Mahana.  Be at the Hop Kiln at 2.00pm.  This road is accessed from the Moutere Highway, branching off near the Community Centre or from the Coastal Highway where it is a continuation of Dominion Road.  The second part of the visit will then be to the Moutere Hills Cemetery in Gardner Valley Road where Eileen will give a talk. The outing will finish at the Riverside Café for afternoon tea.  A fine day will be required for this outing. Thursday, 29 September will be the back up day

25 October – Constance Barnicoat Room Tasman District Library at 2.00 pm.  A General Meeting will be followed by a talk about Book Binding by Rosie-Anne Pinney, new owner of the Cambria Craft Bindery in Nelson,

22 NovemberChristmas Function at “Willowbank” 79 Wakefield-Kohatu Highway.  An 11.30am start with a General Meeting followed by a Pot Luck Lunch. Please bring food to share and a gift (to the value of $5.00). A Koha of a $5.00 entry also please. Wayne will organise a quiz.

General Matters

Members are reminded to bring a small plate for afternoon tea at General Meetings. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk will be provided.

Please remember that we would like guests and non-members attending General Meetings to make a Koha donation.

Our Meeting days are the fourth Tuesday in the month. The default day is the Thursday in the same week. For further help or information contact our Secretary Arnold Clark, PH. 5447834.

Please note the order of business for meetings held at the Library. General Business will be conducted first starting at 2.00 pm followed by the Speaker at 2 30 pm.

Subscriptions –Members are reminded that Subscriptions for the 2016 -2017 year are now due. They are the same as last year – $15.00 per person. If you have not yet paid please bring the fee to the July Meeting or post to the Secretary at 10 Peppin Avenue, Richmond.
